Inserted in the highway between Amarante and Vila Real, the tunnel is one of the largest double road tunnels of the Iberian Peninsula with 5.6 km and serves as an alternative to the national road IP4.

In this project, Sotécnica performed:

• The mouting of the ventilation systems of the pedestrian and vehicular galleries;
• The climatization of technical buildings supporting the tunnel;
• Electrical frames and electrical installation.

After the opening of the tunnel on 7 May 2016, Sotécnica became responsible for the maintenance and general technical assistance of the electrical, security and HVAC installations of the tunnel.
