Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m Camilo Garcia Fernandes, I’m 64 years old and I’ve been in sotécnica for 42 years. I’m Project Manager at Electrical Switchboard Solutions (ESS) and I perform the functions of Budgeting Technician and execution of electrical switchboards.
What do you value most when working at Sotécnica?
What I value most about working at Sotécnica is the professional competence of the colleagues I work with, the punctuality of salaries and flexibility.
Since Safety is one of the main pillars of the company’s activity, what factors do you consider most important at this level, in the exercise of your duties?
Within Sotécnica there are already well-prepared security plans by security technicians, however I will try to expose some ideas that somehow already exist, and that are already regulated:
- Security must be incorporated early in the development and budgeting phases of projects in order to avoid higher expenses in the future.
- Regulatory compliance established by the Security System
- Continue tracking digital transformation.
- In my specific area of work, individual equipment is adequate.
- Maintenance and security training have been well carried out in order to minimize operational risks, as well as risks to the institution’s image and reputation.
- People are informed and aware of the risks of dangerous situations.
- Invest in more training and maintenance actions in order to circumvent risky situations, in order to avoid further expenses in the future.
What do you think about the future of Sotécnica?
I think that Sotécnica should focus on the decisions to be taken, with the aim of successfully achieving its objectives so as not to become obsolete within the job market. Thinking strategically and thinking ahead is key!
